Alexa Kavasto

Alexa Kavasto is a lawyer specialising in employment law who believes that law should be accessible, practical and solution-oriented. Alexa has several years of diverse experience in handling a variety of employment-related assignments.
Alexa believes that a good lawyer doesn't just look at the articles, but sees the big picture. The best practical solutions are not to be found in a law book. In addition to his solid substantive knowledge, Alexa finds it important to make it easy and straightforward to work with him on assignments. Employment law is Alexa's passion, which is why, in addition to working on assignments, she also works on a PhD in employment law at university and lectures.
Alexa is also the author of several publications and books on employment law, with a particular focus on employee health and fitness for work issues. Alexa's doctoral thesis focuses on current issues in the field of dismissal on grounds of illness. Alexa also provides ongoing training to company management, pre-employees and human resources managers on key employment law topics, with excellent feedback.

Kiira Koponen

Kiira Koponen is a lawyer and deputy barrister specialising in public procurement and employment law, who wants to offer her clients services that they would buy themselves - accessible and practical legal advice.
Kiira has extensive experience in the largest law firm in Finland specialising in procurement law, where she has handled a wide range of demanding procurement processes. Kiira has also gained extensive experience by working at the Market Court.
In addition to procurement, Kiira has long and solid experience in employment law, public procurement and data protection issues. She has worked as head of the employment law team at a law firm and as a rapporteur for the Court of Appeal in Helsinki, in particular in employment litigation. Kiira has particular expertise in public sector employment law issues in municipalities and parishes.

Anet Joutsen

Anet Joutsen serves our clients in particular in public procurement and employment law assignments.
Anet has 15 years of extensive experience in assisting public sector and private operators in public procurement and other public law matters. Anet has worked on both domestic and international procurement projects, and before joining the VALO team she worked as a lawyer at KPMG, as a service manager at the City of Helsinki, and as an administrative lawyer at the City of Järvenpää.
For Anet, it is important to combine in-depth legal expertise with a practical and client-oriented approach. Understanding and responding to clients' needs, as well as open and warm cooperation, are at the heart of Anet's work.
