Responsible entrepreneurship in practice

Responsible business is based not only on respect for the environment and good governance, but also on being a responsible employer. Companies are responsible both for their employees and for their impact on surrounding societies, be it in terms of working conditions, labour rights or diversity. There are numerous articles in labour laws that provide guidance on responsible employers. However, compliance alone is not enough, as case law has extended the employer's obligations beyond this.

Responsibility benefits not only the employees, but also the employer. Generating long-term profits and increasing share value also very often require the application of socially acceptable practices, even in situations where this is not required by law.

By the end of the training, you will understand what responsible employers mean and you will have practical tools to develop responsible employers.

The training will provide answers to questions such as:

  • What are the practical ways in which a front-line worker can influence the content of his or her right to manage his or her work?
  • How should an employment contract be drafted?
  • How can we prevent practices from becoming a binding condition of employment?
  • What is the importance of interaction in challenging situations?
  • How should targets be set? How should feedback be given?
  • What should I do if the employee does not follow the instructions given or does not achieve the objectives set for him/her?
  • What kind of documentation should be kept of the management discussions?
  • How to respond to substance misuse?
  • What should be the process for dealing with harassment and inappropriate behaviour in the workplace?

The training can be delivered remotely or face-to-face.
